Assistant Accountant (Ref: J10543) Permanent

My client, based in North Kent is looking to appoint an Assistant Accountant due to continued growth. They provide services for all types of business, from start-ups to major private organisations. They provide expertise and support from preparing annual accounts, to offering personal tax planning advice, assisting with ITC, dealing with statutory returns, and all aspects of tax and financial planning.

Ideally, they would like to appoint someone with a minimum of 4 years experience in an accountancy practice with knowledge of using Sage 50 and/or cloud based accounting software such as Kashflow, Xero, or Sage One and be able to prepare monthly accounts using this software.

Payroll and/or Construction Industry experience would be an advantage. statutory accounts preparation, audit, and corporation tax for Limited Companies, together with some experience of preparing management accounts, using Sage Line 50 or equivalent.

Your role:

• Prepare accounts and tax returns
• Process sales invoices, receipts, and payments
• Complete VAT returns
• Prepare invoices for the Inland Revenue
• Check company bank statements
• Prepare cash flow statements
• Deal with financial paperwork and filing
• Able to work to tight deadlines
• Reconcile the bank book and the cash book
• Find errors while recording, posting, or balancing any account
• Prepare tax calculation
• Keep records of financial transactions
• Compile reports to show statistics, such as cash receipts and expenditures
• Ensure that financial statements and records comply with laws and regulations
• Supervising and overseeing bookkeeping and VAT, training and guiding junior staff
