We are currently working with an international organisation based in East Kent who are looking to recruit a Financial Controller. This is a key role where you will provide ownership for the financial controls, processes, measures and reporting for the business. Duties and responsibilities will include:
– Manage the planning and direction of accounting activities, including the maintenance of the ledger accounts and financial statements
– Monthly reporting under IFRS
– Develop, direct, plan and evaluate accounting policies and procedures including cost accounting, general accounting, and accounts payable and receivable
– Ensure the accounting software is adequately set up and configured to support the production of reliable financial and management reports
– Prepare cashflows and cashflow forecasts
– Provide financial support including forecasting, budgeting, and analysing variations from budget
– Analyse and prepare financial statements and reports
– Create financial models of “what if” scenarios to help future business planning decisions in areas such as new product development and new marketing strategies
– Compile and review the budgets for departments, taking into consideration actual performance, previous expenditures, and estimated expenses and income
– Prepare and maintain tax records, returns, reports and other related material
– Develop and implement controls and cost-effective approaches to minimise risk
– Ensure the effectiveness of internal controls in compliance with corporate objectives and government standards
– Ensure that documentation for all processes across the organisation is reviewed and updated periodically
The successful candidate will be ACA, ACCA or CIMA Qualified with similar experience as listed above.
