Established organisation in East Kent is looking for a forward-thinking individual to join their Policy and Communication team on a 12-month contract. You will be responsible for driving and protecting a positive, dynamic and professional image of the organisation and it’s vision, business streams and subsidiaries through external relations and media activities.
Duties:
– liaising with the Head of Policy and Communications
– prepare the Communications plan and lead on its delivery, monitoring progress and providing timely and relevant
input throughout the year
– proactively look for new opportunities to promote the work of the organisation and the people
who work here
– cultivate positive relationships and provide a central corporate point of contact (press
office) with the media and media/PR contacts in other
organisations
– provide a daily media report to management utilising a paid-for monitoring service
– agree media handling and filming requests
– prepare and issue press releases to support corporate, project and business stream
activities, marketing campaigns and community engagement.
– attend external meetings and events as directed by the Head of Policy & Communications and the CEO
– you will also be included on the duty roster for on-call media duties
You must have:
▪ Degree or equivalent professional qualification in a related area
▪ Evidence of continuing professional and personal developments
▪ Track record of contributing and delivering on a communication and marketing plan for
a national business or projects of national importance
▪ Good influencing and negotiation skills
▪ Full UK driving licence and use of own vehicle
Salary dependent on experience
