Tax Assistant/Trainee (Ref: J10487) Permanent

Our client is a respected accountancy practice based in West Kent and they are currently recruiting for a Tax Assistant – mix tax. This role will involve working on the day-to-day supports services for their clients working on a varied portfolio. Supporting the tax team, you will work alongside other trainees and assistant accountants in the tax team and work to provide support services to their clients. This role would suit an enthusiastic, confident and ambitious individual looking to progress their career.

Ideally, they are looking for someone who is an ATT/ACA studier looking to specialise in taxation.

The role requires an individual with a solid academic background with a minimum of a years experience of working within a Practice environment with the ability to support clients in the preparation of tax personal tax computations and partnership returns, dealing with queries, preparation of VAT returns, and liaising with the HMRC.

The role will be predominately compliance-focused, so would need to be someone experienced in supporting a portfolio and providing appropriate client services. You will be involved in different aspects of tax planning and advisory services for the clients. Although you would need to have some ambition to develop the advisory role you would need to have a focus on the compliance elements of the role and workload and also be adaptable to embracing technology and a paperless process.
