We are currently working with an acquisitive and forward thinking PLC based in Mid Kent who are looking to recruit a Senior Financial Reporting Manager. In this role you will be responsible for supporting the Head of Financial Reporting in managing the financial reporting team that look after external Group reporting, the statutory reporting team and the accounts payable team. Key duties will include:
– Managing the reporting processes, including Group consolidation and external reporting together with the financial reporting team
– Overseeing the preparation, audit and filing of 100+ sets of statutory accounts in line with timetable throughout the course of the year, together with statutory reporting team
– Overseeing the accounts payable team
– Supporting the Head of Financial Reporting on ad hoc technical accounting matters for the Group
– Preparing certain technical accounting workpapers and memos, including but not limited to goodwill impairment, pensions, unwinding of acquisition accounting fair value adjustments and equity investment accounting
– Preparing Group viability and going concern assessments
– Agreeing timetables with external auditors for the year and being a key point of contact for audit related matters
– Proactively preparing for HY and FY processes with the financial reporting and other relevant teams, including agreeing disclosures and template financial statements with auditors in advance of reporting periods
– Reviewing work prepared by your teams, including Group consolidation, balance sheet reconciliations and calculations supporting HY and FY reporting disclosures
– Driving improvement in processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness of financial reporting
– Being aware of upcoming changes to accounting standards and disclosure requirements
– Supporting and developing your teams
– Keeping up to date with business developments and considering the implications for financial reporting
– Work with regional teams across the business in understanding any accounting matters and ensuring financial reporting processes are running efficiently and effectively
– Maintain productive relationships with the Group’s external auditors
The successful candidate will be ACA or ACCA Qualified with staff management experience. You must also have experience of listed Group external reporting processes, either internally or as an auditor, including consolidation and preparing, reviewing or auditing financial statements under IFRS.
