I have dealt with a number of recruitment agencies and certainly haven't had such a positive experience as I have had with Goldhawk. I am a great believer in that to recruit well, you need to visit the place of work and get a real understanding of the business and both Joanne and Cressida did that and the level of candidates that they sent me were absolutely spot on, which in turn led to us appointing 2 very capable candidates. Simon was given a hard brief, from a network of family companies, with all the curious working methods that family companies create for themselves. There was a convoluted history and a complex brief for a critical position. He was asked to not deluge us with candidates but to make a judicious selection based on our brief and his knowledge of us. He did exactly that, and delivered several candidates that were clearly of calibre, on brief and professionally appropriate. In my years of interviewing it’s rare to get one stand out candidate let alone several. I have no idea if our experience was the exception or the norm, but there’s very little I can fault, and believe me, I’ve tried to be critical. It was all a lot easier than it could have been.
