Management Accountant (Ref: J11559) Permanent

Goldhawk Associates are currently supporting a local specialist Firm of Accountants in East Kent who are looking to appoint a Management Accountant to their outsourcing team. They are looking for someone to provide management accounting services and someone who has had previous experience working as an accountant in a similar field who is looking for a more varied role offering a mixed client based portfolio.

The firm prides itself on its service provision and has a varied client base within the South East. They have high standards and are looking for someone who has a strong technical background alongside good interpersonal skills. You will have an analytical approach and be able to work well with your clients. You will provide a tailored service, combining any one or more of bookkeeping, VAT, management reporting, cashflow management, assisting with profit and growth plans, setting up systems and ad hoc projects.
Reporting to the Partners, you will work in a team and will provide management accounting services and advice, bookkeeping, and training to the client base. This will involve working closely with clients to identify solutions and applying those, be it support on systems development and training, financial control or general accounting. You will require strong ITC skills and it would be an advantage if you have knowledge of Sage, Xero, and Cloud Accounting.

Duties will include:
– Preparing and reviewing management accounts to trial balance
– Budgeting and forecasting
– Prepare management reports to client requirements
– General Bookkeeping
– Preparing VAT returns for varying sectors
– Experienced in Xero, sage and general accounting systems is essential
– Supporting and mentoring junior members of the team
– Experience in payroll
– Providing financial control services to clients as required

This is a client-facing role so it is essential you are confident in communicating with clients, providing training to clients, and being able to demonstrate strong communication and organisational skills. You will be required to visit client premises to maintain their accounting records, so your own transport is essential. You will be AAT qualified as a minimum with experience in a similar role, be able to work to tight deadlines and manage several projects at once.
